YOGA ETIQUETTE

Arrive with plenty of time to get settled into class before start time.

Bring only your mat, towel and water into the yoga room. Leave all other baggage behind. This means cell phones, car keys, purses, extra clothes, etc. stay in the locker area.

Allow the previous class 15 minutes in final savasana before entering to set-up.

Leave heavy scents, perfumes, lotions, oils, gum and expensive jewelry for another day.

Drink water all day long everyday. Then hold off on water during class until after the first formal group break.

Feel free to laugh, cry, moan and sigh as you sweat and stretch, but no talking. Minimal conversation in quiet voices before start-time is permitted, but absolutely no talking during class or after final savasana. Many people use the practice space as a place of meditation. (Conversation is of course always welcome in the lobby area.)

Keep it light! Don't judge yourself or your postures. Yoga is not really about what you look like on the outside, but about overcoming the obstacles that will arise as you challenge yourself to do what you can. As you go through this process, your best, most perfect, vibrant self will naturally emerge.

This is not a competition and there is no deadline.
